Kushal Bose – Executive Director

 Kushal Bose is a nuclear engineer by education, a film-maker by profession and a musician by passion.



Kushal learned singing from his mother Pratima Bose, a renowned singer of Radio and Television of her times, since he was five. Since then Kushal has been under tutelage in both Hindustani Classical and modern music from stalwarts like Ustad Sultan Khan, Salil Chowdhury, Jatileswar Mukhopadhyay, and others.

With a recording contract under HMV label, Kushal has published, composed and sang for many private albums, Hindi and Bengali TV Serials, films and plays in India and abroad.


Plays, Operas and Musicals

Kushal has written, directed and produced plays and musicals staged all across North America collaborating with artists like Ustad Zakir Hussain, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, Pandit Shivkumar Sharma, Ustad Sultan Khan, Sivamani, Ustad Ashish Khan, and many others.

1998 – Swami Vivekananda - Centennial celebration of Life of Swamiji at the Chicago Art Institute
2000 – Dusk to Dawn, a musical journey of different Raga’s through a 24-hour time cycle
2002 – The Journey, depicting eternal journey of life punctuated by steam locomotive metaphor
2004 – Masters of Percussion, showcasing variety of folk music, dances and Instruments from India
2006 – The Call of the Valley, Calling for tolerance, respect, unity in diversity in the Kashmir valley
2008 – The Lost Motherland, yearning of an immigrant for his lost years away from his motherland
2010 – That Time – Collection of Stories, Songs and people of Bengal during Renaissance period

Kushal is the President and CEO of Teledec Interactive, Oak Brook and he and his creative team has produced a number of CD’s and music DVD’s including live concerts of Zakir Hussain, Shivkumar Sharma, Sultan Khan, Amjad Ali, Ashish Khan, Sivamani and Others.


Film and Television

Kushal was an executive producer of Dakhal, directed by Gautam Ghosh, which won India’s highest National Award, Best Picture, 1981. Kushal wrote, directed and produced a number of documentary films for Indian Television , 1987 and 1988

Kushal’s firm Teledec designed, built and operated India’s first all-digital integrated video recording , editing, graphics, animation studio in Kolkata in partnership with Government of West Bengal, 1995, 1996, 1997.

Kushal hosted several Television interviews including Director Shyam Benegal for BBC and hosted 7 Indian Film Festival and retrospectives with live participation of Directors Mrinal Sen, Satyajit Ray, Chidananda Dasgupta, Aparna Sen, Moushumi Chatterjee, Biswajeet Chatterjee, Uttam Kumar, Govind Nihalani., Smita Patil, Shyam Benegal and others.

With an invitation from Government of India, Kushal was a technology and communication consultant to CDOT and Doordarshan, India, 1986, ’87.
